Guide to Install a Bench Drill Press

Don’t you have a bench drill press? No?

Well then:

Buy one soon!

Nothing can be as handy and versatile as a bench drill press. Starting from the jeweler’s bench to other areas, a bench drill press can do a lot more than you can even imagine.

When you are using a bench drill press for the first time, it can be a bit intimidating.

You may not know where to begin and where to end, but that’s not a big deal.

When you have a wonderful guide like this, why worry!

Come on. Let’s start.

Set up and installation

First:

Install the base into the main section and again the head stock further on the main post. To make sure that you are tightening the head stock, it is better that you use a wrench to fix the clamp securely.

Next, install the lever at an angular position.

When everything is done, the machine is ready to install the drill bits.

To open and close the jaws of the chuck, turn on the chuck keys. While you are installing the bits, make sure that it is placed in a straight manner.

In case of small bits of drill, make sure that you are extra careful! Small bits have a tendency to get lodged in between the jaws easily.

Also:

Make sure that you tighten all the three clamps or holes on the chuck.

Now:

Move on to the head stock. Fix the height of the headstock.

Ensure that the channel in between the head stock is absolutely clear. However, too much clearance is not likely as well.

If you have to lower down the head stock, loosen the clamp wrench.

Next, pull up the lever and drill.

Your machine is ready to switch on the power button. Make adjustments for retaining the appropriate speed.
